Not soo Merry Christmas & Not soo Happy Birthday to me!

Well, the past four days weren't exactly merry! I really did enjoy seeing family & friends who have moved all over the US. My mom was on my case all four days! "Your friends are more important than your family, they've always have been and always will be!," Says my mom. Arrg! Not true --sorry friends, but family is more important. But isn't it for everyone?! I didn't really plan on seeing some of them, it just came about that evening, seriously last minute and my mom offered to babysit, so we took advantage to do whatever we wanted - isn't that what you do when you have a babysitter. Well, Brayden was difficult 'cause he got shots on Dec. 21st in the afternoon and we left that evening plus Brayden is teething -- not a good combo. So, needless to say, Brayden was screaming for a little while so I told mom the tricks....but she didn't swaddle him until right before we walked in the door, and that trick worked for a while...he always calms down for that. Plus, my mom only had 3 hrs. of sleep so that probably wasn't good either. I want to spend time with my mom. I know we've never been good at that, and never have been close, but I'm trying. I just don't know how to hang out with my mom. All we do their is watch tv. We did go run errands together with Brayden with us. But, I guess my mom doesn't count that as spending time together and neither was cooking on Christmas Day with her and Cassie. I just don't know what she means my spending time with her. I love my mom soo much and she's very important to me -- I just wish that she would see that! My mom has sacrificed so much for us as kids, and I totally appreciate it and respect her and look up to her and admire her for all of that.

Well, I woke up today, my Birthday in a bad mood! So much for it to be a "golden birthday." I turned 26th on the 26th! Well, If it wasn't for facebook I'm pretty sure only my family & Erica would have remembered. So, today...woke up in a bad mood and late...so we left late from Indy to Evansville. Which makes me not happy 'cause we were rushing back so that Amanda and I could go shopping and spend some girl time together before I had to go to Brendel Christmas. I really don't like doing Christmas events on my birthday, but if that's what works I go with it. Well, we were passing through Oakland City - not to far from Evv so I called Amanda and got VM. She shortly called back and said, we are on our way to Chicago. (I guess they left a day early - not really sure why). So, no shopping or girl time, but she said when she gets back. So, hopefully that will work out. Well, we said our good bye's w/o a happy birthday...so I just thought she forgot which maybe she did, but later that night as we just arrived at Matt & Lisa's for Christmas Amanda called and everyone in the car wished me happy birthday (Levi, Leah, Daniel, Joni, & Amanda). So, that made my day a little brighter. Before that Charity was talking with Mark and he told her about the day and how everyone forgot her birthday and she feeling like crap --not in those words or so many words, but than Charity said Happy Birthday. Maybe she called Levi to remind him or something...I am always reminding him of peoples birthdays.

It's just every year people forget my birthday because it's the day after Christmas. It's like I'm the leaf in the shadow on Ground Hog Day that no one notices, because they are just focused on if the Ground Hog saw his shadow or not. Actually it's more like the ugly rolypoly bug on the leaf, at least that's how it makes me feel. Not even Lesley or Robin remembered -- it's ok though. I should really get used to it. I have friends that have b-day's on Christmas Eve & Day both - that stinks more -- it's kinda like the rolypoly bug's poop. I really don't like my birthday! Too bad I'm not Catholic, I could have a Saint Day too (It's kinda like a second birthday). I really need to get used to people forgeting, but it's so hard when no one forgets other birthdays. It's kinda sad even your grandparents and other family members forget too. Another thing that gets to me...people who have known me for several years - can't spell my name! It's not 1 K, it's 2! NIKKI - for crying out loud! Anyway... I just cried about it today, a lot! Just sitting here thinking how unimportant you are to people you consider important in your life is just sad really sad...I need to go cry some more. Atleast I know that Brayden & Markey love me and remember my birthday. Well, I need to go find Piggy.
Bonne Anniversaire a moi - c'est la vie!

Christmas Pics

Here are Christmas Pics that my mom got taken at Wal-Mart. The reason why mark isn't in them & he didn't take them is because he was in NYC for Grad School. Enjoy!

Somewhat of an update

Ok so it's been forever since I posted. It's hard to post pics when you have dial-up. So maybe sometime I'll post some later..but you can check out Brayden's..he has new pics. There is only one person that I know who is awesome at posting..and that is Brooke West. She's amazing at it! Well, update I have is that Brayden rolled over from his belly to his back only for Grandma Kathy & Poppy..not for us despite our efforts. Brayden will seriously "talk" for like 5 min. straight just to hear himself...we think. He talks to his bottle...us..his toys...it's quite funny! Brayden eats cereal with a spoon! He is 4 months today! He's getting big, but he's still small. His next dr. appt. is on the 21st so we will see. Well, He's getting fussy 'cause he's tired. Gotta go!
Love,
Nikki
